Since November we have been busy filming our music video. So far we have shot the beginning and end of our video. We also started another scene from the middle of our storyboard. We uploaded theses scenes and started fitting them together with the music to see how well they worked and what needed to be improved.
We started by creating our main desk scene for the video. We decided to film the beginning and end first because these scenes where the bulk of the video that used this desk scene, which also meant we could now take part our set for the other scenes. This desk scene included pencil pot, a desk lamp and desk. There is also a scrap a box on the desk which is the main part to our video. We took some time creating this book, making it look like a lovers scrap book by printing off relevant images such as love hearts, cinema tickets and bill receipts. The first significant change in our video starts with a woman holding divorce papers. This idea foreshadows the ending of the video as the couple break up and divorce.
A few weeks ago, Sarah and I started this process but we found it was quite time consuming as we had to sort out the settings for Final Cut pro, dealing with uploading the pictures and the getting the timing right for the frames. We found this process challenging as none of us had sufficient knowledge of Final Cut Pro. From experimenting with the program we now understand the basic workings of the program but we are still finding it difficult to match the amount of photographs to the right speed so that the timing is seamless and flows properly. We attempted to fit the music to the first scene we shot but have found it is much more complex than we first thought.
These are the videos we have created so far:
